Emergency Services- Apply For Assistance

To make an online appointment for energy assistance, Click on http://achr.cascheduler.com (or drop the address into your browser line) and follow the instructions. Or call (334) 246-5266 and follow the instructions. The phone number is not a direct ACHR number, so you may call at any time, including at night and on weekends.

After making an online appointment, complete the Emergency Services Assistance Application. (Applications are for 65 & Older ONLY

For Paper Applications (65 & Older)

A.  Download and Print application.  (*4 pages)  Sign all sheets.  Not signing your application may lead to your assistance being denied or delayed.

B. Complete all highlighted areas (please provide a good working telephone number)

C. If you receive Section 8, Public Housing Assistance or reside in HUD Assisted Apartments, Please request your housing letter before your appointment.  Not providing a current housing letter may result in your assistance being denied or delayed.

D. Please place all information in a SEALED ENVELOPE, write your name, appointment date and time on the outside of the envelope and place it in the CSBG drop box: Auburn (King Center) or Opelika (behind Darden Head Start)

*Application must be returned BEFORE your appointment.  Incomplete applications may result in denied or delayed assistance.

Documentation Needed:  (Copies)

  • Picture ID (Please DO NOT place your original ID in the envelope
  • SS cards for everyone in your household (write date of birth on paperwork)
  • Proof of income or no income (for all that apply): Check Stub for Previous Month, Current Unemployment Statement, Current SS/SSI/Retirement Statement, Current SNAP Printout (State)
  • Current Housing Letter (if apply):  (Section 8/Public Housing/HUD Housing)
  • Current Utility Bill
